All children should grow up free from violence and exploitation. Yet there are one billion children around the world who are victims of violence and exploitation. As shocking as that figure might be, ChildFund and the ChildFund Alliance are working to ensure action is being taken to end violence in the communities where we work.

Mother of five, Malisa* was close to giving up on life after suffering years of domestic and sexual violence from her husband.
Not knowing who or where to seek help from, she lived in shame and silence. It was only after attending a community awareness meeting for ‘Seif Ples (safe place), that she finally found the courage to seek the support she needed.
After reaching out, she was assessed by the nurse in the Seif Ples clinic and then referred to a Case Manager who after listening to her ordeal, created a safety plan, helped her to access counselling and empowered her to seek a police safety notice, safe-guarding her and her children from future violence from her partner.
