Be there when disaster strikes.

Together we save lives and help communities rebuild.

Every year, millions of children are forced from their homes or lose their livelihoods because of natural disasters and conflict - in places like Gaza, Ukraine and Afghanistan. Without urgent help, their futures are in danger.

At ChildFund NZ, we believe every child has the right to clean water, food, protection, and education. When those rights are under threat, we respond immediately, either directly or through trusted partners already on the ground.
What makes us different is that we don’t walk away when the crisis fades from the headlines. We stay to help families rebuild and to reduce the risk of future disasters. Our long-term relationships with local partners mean we can act fast where children are most at risk.

With your support, we’ve launched responses to the Rohingya refugee crisis, the East Africa famine, and Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam.

But emergencies strike without warning. That’s why in 2025 we created the Emergency Response Fund, to make sure help is ready to go the moment children are in danger. This fund gives us the ability to act quickly, without waiting for donations to be raised first. Every hour saved means more children protected, more lives saved. Please give today to the Emergency Response Fund. Your gift will ensure that when the next crisis strikes, children won’t be left waiting.

How your gift to the Emergency Response Fund is Used.

When you give to ChildFund New Zealand’s Emergency Response Fund, your donation is pooled with gifts from other generous supporters to make sure we can act quickly when disaster strikes.

ChildFund NZ does not send your donation to one specific emergency unless expressly stated.

Instead, The Fund allows us to be ready for any crisis, whether conflict, natural disaster, or climate-related emergency, so we can deliver help at a moment’s notice.
