Every sip of water can be life or death.
You can protect babies today.
Water - so simple, but so risky.
For many parents in vulnerable communities, even the most ordinary moments-like offering a baby a sip of water- can carry terrifying risks.
When babies reach that age when they need more than breastmilk that first sip of water can make them dangerously ill.
Tiare’s parents Makala and Kaika know this fear all too well.
With their three older daughters, every sip brought worry. Sleepless nights. Hospital visits. Endless fear.
"A child must go through serious sickness in their first year of life,” Kaika explains quietly. It’s a belief in their community, shaped by years of watching babies fall ill again and again.
But that didn’t make it easier when vomiting and diarrhoea set in or when they had to rush each one of their three daughter to hospital, praying they would survive.
Please help protect a child before sickness strikes.

FAQ's - Appeals
Yes - you will receive an annual tax receipt at the end of the financial year. If you qualify, you can claim a 33.33% tax credit on a donation of $5 or more.
If the appeal displays the MFAT offering it’s because the specific topic is MFAT Co-Funded. This means that we raise a percentage of funds from the public and MFAT matches it with a particular percentage agreement.
For example, water projects are match funded x5 meaning we need to raise $1 to unlock another $4 from MFAT. So, your gift of $100 becomes $500 with no extra cost to you.
Donations go to the Appeal and the administration of those donations.
Should ChildFund New Zealand receive excess funds for an appeal, we no longer need funding, or the decision is made to close the appeal, your gift will go to our general funds pool.
