We have some wonderful news to share with you, a truly heartwarming story involving two long-time ChildFund supporters.
Bridgit and Alex have been part of the ChildFund whānau for an incredible 26 years, demonstrating kindness in action every step of the way. Recently, Bridgit phoned in with a few enquiries, and during the call, she mentioned a sponsored child she had supported many years ago through ChildFund.
That child was Nangida, from Kenya. Bridgit shared that she often wondered what had become of her, so our donor support team offered to try and find out. Knowing Nangida would now be well into adulthood, it was a challenge. But in true ChildFund spirit, the team pressed on.
Just days later, a reply came back from Kenya—an unbelievable surprise. It was a letter from Nangida herself, now 32 years old, along with the photo above.
Nangida is working as a tailor and is the proud mother of four wonderful boys. And here's the most incredible part, her eldest son is named Alex.
This full-circle moment meant the world to both Bridgit and Alex, and it was equally meaningful for Nangida to learn she was still being thought of after all these years.
