We asked Louise, our Marketing Specialist about her experience and why working towards ChildFund's purpose of helping children and young people to thrive is important to her.
ChildFund (CF) : Why do you want to help children and young people?
Louise Bolger (LB) : I believe that without access to things such as water and quality education, children do not have the opportunity to thrive. By putting time, energy, and care into young people, we are playing our part as fellow human beings, and setting the world up for future generations.
CF : Briefly, tell us about your skills and experience, what you are bringing to ChildFund and to the children we serve?
LB : From a young age, I’ve been passionate about charities. My academic background is in marketing, so I am really excited to bring these two interests together. I love connecting Aotearoa with the meaningful projects we are delivering to children in communities around the world, and inspiring individuals to be a part of the change.
CF : What does work at ChildFund bring to you?
LB : It is a real privilege to work in an organisation that puts children first and genuinely makes a difference in the lives of individuals. I come home every day and feel proud of how I have spent my time - working in the charity sector is more than ‘just a job’. Given that I’m at the start of my career, I feel very lucky to be professionally growing in such an impactful environment!
CF : What are your hobbies?
LB : I love spending time with my friends and family, and my lovely cat Charlotte! Playing the piano, exploring outdoors and trying new cafes are a few of the other things I fill my weekends with.
