"ChildFund's mission of helping children and communities to thrive is very close to my heart, my wife Jaya and I adopted our children from an orphanage in India and they spent their early years in the most difficult circumstances imaginable. Throughout our journey, Jaya and I have come to learn very quickly how resilient children can be, if given love and nurturing that shapes them into confident, caring people. Today our two children have blossomed and have become an inspiration to us and our wider community, showing us that the human spirit is so special."

Poohan is a finance professional and Chartered Accountant who specialisation is in technology, software and e-commerce. He has worked with fast growing technology start-ups that are focused on missions and outcomes. Working as a Chief Financial Officer has given him vast experience in financial strategy, reporting and fiscal management.

He is excited to bring his experience to the ChildFund team and to join the mission in creating positive impact for children and youth globally, especially as the organisation moves forward in digitalisation and e-commerce. It is a massive privilege to be on the team, says Poohan.

Away from work he enjoys spending time with his family and being in the outdoors, especially if it involves hiking in New Zealand's beautiful native bush or coastline. Badminton is the favourite sport for the whole family and another regular weekend activity.
