Malcolm Sproull, Head of Strategic Supporter Relations

Why do you want to help children?
I hate the way poverty deprives children of an opportunity for them to be who they were meant to be. Every child contains so much potential that is too often repressed because of them not getting a fair go. I want to be part of helping them to get a fair go in life. Its that simple really.
Tell us about what you bring to ChildFund and to the children we serve?
I come to ChildFund from a profit-driven background followed by twenty years of specialising in philanthropic fundraising for numerous nonprofits. I’m hoping that with this combination of relationship marketing in my background, I can enhance the donor journey for every ChildFund supporter and the lives of every child their generosity supports.
I'm particularly excited by the launch of ChildFund Guardians as a new way for like-minded supporters to do more.
What does working at ChildFund bring to you?
I get immense joy working with generous people like those wonderful New Zealanders who financially support ChildFund.
What are your hobbies?
I love painting portraits and landscapes. For reasons mostly to do with not having enough time, I have not been unable to do any of that for more than ten years. But I am hoping to get back to that soon.
