John Holley, Board Member

“I have seen personally and up close the deprivation and violence children face in many countries. I saw this in Timor Leste in 2001 and 2002 and in South Sudan in 2014. So I know that programmes focused on growing communities without creating external dependencies make a real difference in the lives of children and their whānau.”
John has been on the ChildFund New Zealand board for nearly eight years. He enjoys knowing that he is helping to make the lives better for children in our dedicated programme areas. He has visited Vietnam and Sri Lanka and has seen personally the difference being made to children and communities.
John has worked in the IT industry for 35 years in a range of IT management, sales, and consulting roles. He is currently General Manager Outsourcing and Support at System Advisory Services. He is a New Zealand Army officer and is a board member of the Accelerating Aotearoa Taskforce and a member of the advisory group for the Auckland Digital Leadership Forum.
Family, DIY projects at home, watching sports at Eden Park (he is a big Auckland/Blues/All Blacks fan) and playing on his Playstation (*cough*) are his hobbies.
